Special Thanks for the late Al Howard

I first met Al Howard, the creator of the iconic game show Supermarket Sweep, in 1997. In my role as his business manager for the succeeding almost 20 years until his death at age 90 in 2016, I had the opportunity to see first-hand the great passion he had for his family, the welfare of those less fortunate than him and of course for the ground-breaking game show he created. Al had a wicked sense of humor and always had a joke at the ready and a genuine interest in others. Isabel, who is the granddaughter of Al’s life-long childhood friend Murray Neidorf, held a special place in his heart. Al deeply cared for and was always supportive of Isabel, especially after she was diagnosed with a brain tumor. In my current role as the successor trustee of Al’s estate, I know Al, his cherished wife Alice, his beloved son Henry and his childhood friend Murray, are smiling down at the very substantial donation that I was able to direct to Heart of the Brain in carrying out the charitable wishes of Al.
